Embroidery Team Lead - 2nd Shift

HOURS: Monday - Thursday; 3:30pm-1:30am

REPORTS TO: Embroidery Manager

As an embroidery team lead - 2nd shift, you will provide leadership support by assisting with a wide variety of the everyday operations of the embroidery production area.

Here's what a typical day might look like. (These are the essential functions of the job). Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrate the eight core principles that guide every 4imprint teammate on a daily basis: Honesty, Curiosity, Collaboration, Flexibility, Accountability, Empathy, Positive Attitude, Humility.

Team Lead Duties

  • Meet with the manager or supervisor on a daily basis to assess work needs for that day and upcoming days as it relates to team, department or company goals.
  • Monitor and perform training of new associates.
  • Track and document changes to operating procedures and processes within the department.
  • Train with manager to temporarily fill in for them when needed (manager on vacation, etc.) to lead team meeting and address concerns (performance or behavior) that can't wait until the manager returns.
  • Initial point of contact for technical questions or work issues (non-egregious); escalate concerns to manager/supervisor as needed.
  • Lead projects assigned to them by their manager.
  • Work with manager/supervisor on recognizing positive work improvements and encouraging participation in continuous improvement suggestions, feedback and implementation of ideas.
  • Along with their manager following through on Individual development plans for team members.
  • Participate and lead process/quality audits within the department.
  • Assist with providing an onboarding experience that allows team members to learn, develop, and acclimate to the 4imprint culture.
  • Assist with tracking results against goals to help identify continuous improvement opportunities and communicate progress towards meeting them.
  • Working with Manager to communicate work schedules, assignments, and expectations to team members.
  • Listen and help with addressing team member concerns to resolve issues and lead a culture of respect, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Monitor associate productivity to ensure goals are met during second shift.
  • Provide added assistance in quality production of embroidered garments.
  • Work all hours required during rush season to meet customer commitments.
  • Assist with training weekend help during rush season.
  • Monitor and implement safety procedures.

Embroidery Operator Duties

  • Program embroidery machines as shown on the work order.
  • Ensure accuracy on each order.
  • Sort items/garments by color.
  • Stage, hoop and load products onto embroidery machines.
  • Maintain, set up and run embroidery machines.
  • Finish embroidered products as shown on the work order.
  • Help out in other areas when needed and when time allows.
  • Participate in training classes and actively seek professional development.

  • Fluent with computers, alphanumeric data, operating an embroidery machine and working with small objects (i.e. threading needles).
  • Experienced with supervising/leading others in a production environment.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative to solve problems and follow up with fellow associates and team members.
  • Patient, level-headed and cool under pressure.

Required education/skills/experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
    1. Equivalent experience is considered having at least 1 year of longevity with a single employer, working in a full-time capacity.
  • 0-1 years of experience in a similar field.
  • Proven effective interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of common industrial/manufacturing safety practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a frequent/occasional basis.
