The RN Peer Review Coordinator provides clinical support to Peer Review by conducting case review, FPPE & OPPE Management and presentation of findings. Facilitates state of continuous readiness with regulatory compliance and performance improvement initiatives by providing education to all levels of the organization. Provider core and special privilege eligibility facilitation including research, monitoring, and education is also a key function of this role.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Graduate of Nursing Program, BSN/BA required within one year of employment.

2. Current West Virginia State licensure as a registered nurse required.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Two years of clinical RN experience.

1. Previous Medical Staff services experience preferred.

1. Collects data and coordinate physician and clinical staff peer review activities.

2. Performs case review of potential peer review issues and presents information to peer review committees.

3. Assist in the development and implementation of valid research tool and survey methodology. Assist Medical Staff Affairs staff and management with planning data collection and retrieval to facilitate efficient and collection of meaningful and valid data as indicated.

4. Maintains physician performance profiles for outpatient CCPC clinics and the hospital groups.

5. In collaboration with the healthcare team, establishes and maintain compliance with external agencies such as JCAHO, West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services and other third-party Regulatory agencies etc.

6. Attends Peer Review committees and presents case findings to the committee members. Prepares minutes and agendas. Provide leadership and support to Peer Review Committees and Credentials Committee to facilitate continuous clinical quality improvement theory and practice.

7. Assists in the collection, analysis and presentation of FPPE and OPPE.

8. Assists with preparation for regulatory surveys including development of educational materials, rounding and in servicing.

9. Attends all required training programs.

10. Participate in the continuous quality improvement activities of the department and institution.

11. Provides overall direction necessary to ensure that clinical privileges are granted in accordance with education and eligibility standards established through state and federal regulations, American Board of Medical Specialties, and JCAHO accreditation standards.

12. Provides overall direction for Advanced Practice Providers by closely following state and federal regulations.

13. Performs other duties as needed to support Medical Staff Affairs office.
