Department Overview

Management Systems and Enhanced Analytics (MSEA) drives continuous improvement in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Gas assets. Leveraging the PGE& Safety Excellence Management System (PESEMS), industry certifications, data and process modeling, value stream optimization, Management of Change (MOC) and communications, MSEA ensures alignment with PG&E's True North Strategy (TNS) and our commitments to customers, communities and regulators.

Position Summary

Utilizing project management tools and methodologies, leads the development and implementation of complex initiatives and technical and non-technical business projects or administrative projects from inception to closeout, managing the scope, schedule and cost. There are typically no direct reports; rather people and other resources are indirectly managed as part of a project team.

The Business Project Manager, Expert provides office and field support for MSEA department including reporting and data acquisition support, organizational change management, project management communications, training, updating of standards and procedures, compliance monitoring, project quality assurance, data quality assurance, audit coordination, continuous improvement and support of other evolving processes. Travel may be required up to 25% for this position.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $118,000

Bay Area Maximum: $188,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Define project scope and objectives
  • Develop and manage project plans, implement earned value methodologies to track progress to plans
  • Establish project team with agreed upon roles and responsibilities
  • Obtain commitment on detailed work plans including schedule, cost, resources, contingency and communication plans
  • Obtain management approval as needed; ensure project documentation is maintained; identify, analyze, and address project performance issues.
  • Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables
  • Communicate project status to all stakeholders; assess project risk and develop contingency plans; and identify and communicate lessons learned and best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required
  • PMP certification required
  • 8 years related experience

Desired:

  • Gas Operational experience
  • Expert knowledge of projects and requirements related to development of tools to design and operationalize digital products such as dashboard and Excel based tools
  • Utility experience and knowledge of industry certifications
    • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to influence to effectively gain buy-in from leaders inside and outside of the department
  • Able to present complex data and technical information in a simple and easy-to-understand manner
  • Ability to effectively work with people of all levels, from executives and managers to field-based personnel
  • Creative problem solving skills to develop solutions
  • Able to build working relationships across the organization
  • Adaptable, flexible and able to deal with the ambiguity
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • ASQ Certifications
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Excel and PowerPoint
  • Utility experience and knowledge of industry certifications
