The City of Clemson is accepting applications for part time temporary positions (10-20 hr weekly during semesters and up to 40 hr summer) in the Engineering Department. Primary functions for this position include record digitization, drafting and field data collection.
Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
Duties for this position(s) will vary based on the needs of the department and the abilities and experience of the selected candidates(s). In general, day to day duties will include: plan design, map creation, Sketchup design, and research.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates enrolled in a bachelors or masters degree program in landscape architecture or related fields. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, G-suite, sketch up. The ability to operate a computer for large portions of time and work in varied environmental conditions is also required.
The ideal candidate(s) for this position should have excellent organizational skills and the ability to consistently repeat workflows. Developing knowledge with or at least a strong desire to learn Google Sketchup, ESRI's ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD platforms is preferred. Ability to read and understand civil engineering site plans is a plus. Special consideration will be given to candidates that are independently motivated and demonstrate the capacity to have a positive working relationship with city employees and the public at large.
The ideal candidate will assist with graphic renderings and 3D visualization of City Right-of-way conceptual and implemented design as well as developing workflow and standards for future use.
