Position Description

The Payroll Supervisor will provide a broad spectrum of HR services and support for the Pregis organization. Specifically, this position will oversee the company's payroll needs and focus on key HR process support including, but is not limited to, payroll auditing, payroll taxes and payroll accounting. This position reports to the HR Services Manager and has one direct report, Payroll Tax Analyst.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations for ~3,000 employees across 9 legal entities and 18 pay groups
  • Prepare and post month-end payroll accounting entries in a timely fashion. Entries include severance and Canada payroll.
  • Prepare and distribute business unit invoice(s) at month-end in a timely fashion.
  • Reconcile and post biweekly payroll general ledger files.
  • Manage payroll accounting questions.
  • Manage employee payroll questions and corrections, as needed.
  • Update general ledger chart of accounts within HRIS as needed.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to managers as needed.
  • Assist with payroll tax processes including, but not limited to, new account registrations, late filings, and multi-state compliance.
  • Assist with Employee Service Center and respond to inquiries in a timely fashion.
  • Serve as backup to Payroll Tax Analyst and HR Specialist as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Required Skills:

Technical Skills



  • The successful candidate will have 3-5 years' experience in payroll accounting or payroll tax role
  • Familiarity with an HRIS system or similar large database is required; experience with Dayforce is a plus
  • Strong capability with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Outlook is required
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Payroll support experience is required
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) highly preferred

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis's total compensation package. The hourly base pay range for this role is estimated to be $92,000 to $110,000.
