Overview
The Project Scheduler II is responsible for but not limited to exercising a qualified level of planning, scheduling, and reporting proficiency and providing schedule monitoring, control measures, analysis and reporting. Responsibilities
Develops, tracks and maintains project schedules(s), and schedules performance on active projects.
- Collects information from Subject Matter Experts, sequences work activities and makes logic links.
- Monitors milestone requirements and scheduling constraints.
- Reports any issues to Project Managers and facilitates and participates in coordination with Project Managers and System Matter Experts (SME) to develop a recovery strategy.
- Meets with Project Managers to provide status, evaluate critical path, and predictively assess project schedule.
- Creates project schedule narratives and reports.
- Analyzes scheduling change impact and performs what-if analysis.
- Exercises independent and professional judgment in solving problems and coordinating issues.
- Interacts with project managers, subcontractors and team partners in solving scheduling issues.
- Adapts schedules to meet various project delivery methods or requirements: design build, design bid build, informal bid, material purchases, cash flow, resources, etc.
- Works closely with the entire project management team to identify and resolve schedule deviations and trends.
- Converts schedule information created in Microsoft Projects or other software to Primavera P6 when necessary.
- Update schedule as needed per project requirements.
- Works with Estimating depart to develop proposal schedules.
- Performs additional assignments as requested.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Experience in preparing detailed schedules and cost loaded schedules for work being performed for current projects and projects in the bid process.
- Must be experienced in developing and maintaining the Project Schedules throughout the lifecycle of the projects.
- Must have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with all necessary technological tools, including MS Project, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint , and Outlook with the ability to use other software as necessary.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam software.
- Proficiency in Primavera 6 software applications.
- Understanding of civil engineering design and construction methods and industry standards.
- Knowledge of mass grading and earthwork, stormwater management, underground utilities, erosion control, CCR project items, landfill project items, and utility infrastructure requirements.
- Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize project performance.
- Ability to self-prioritize and self-start projects and task work.
- Meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to effectively multi-task similar activities in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schedules, and project specifications.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before clients, management, subcontractors and vendors of the organization.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to effectively organize numerous streams of information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred - Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent related field of study.
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience using P6 in Project Scheduling.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in an office environment at the Corporate office or in the field.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures in the field - hot and cold.
- May be exposed to chemicals, refuse and dirt from jobsites.
- Moderate noise levels.
- May be exposed to other risks associated with working around heavy machines, tools and trucks.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must have and maintain a valid state issued Driver's License with driving record that meets Saiia's risk management guidelines.

- This position requires 25% travel.
