The Senior Director - Empower Personal Wealth ("EPW") Internal Communications will be responsible for developing and executing strategic internal communication initiatives that align with EPW's business objectives, while enhancing our employee's understanding of the strategic plan to support a strong culture.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the wealth management industry, strong leadership and influence skills and the ability to work closely with senior executives to shape and deliver key messages across EPW.

We have a strong preference for candidates who are located in Denver, Colorado or Hunt Valley, Maryland.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy for EPW that supports the vision, mission and business goals
  • Develop and manage executive communication programs for Town Halls, leadership updates, internal announcements, Board meetings
  • Provide coaching to senior executives in effectively communicating strategy to EPW employees and other constituents
  • Create compelling narratives that reinforce the firm's leadership position in EPW
  • Lead the creation of high-quality internal content, including emails, newsletters, intranet updates, videos and presentations
  • Continuously assess and improve communication channels to enhance reach and impact
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic counsel on messaging
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of internal messaging with external brand position and enterprise strategy
  • Fosters a culture of transparency, collaboration and inclusion through effective communication channels
  • Effectively work cross organizationally in a matrix structure. Partner with Marketing, Business Readiness, Change Management to ensure brand alignment, tone & key messages are aligned. This includes participating in Marketing internal communications staff meetings and regular meetings with Corporate Communications.
  • Develop, edit, and/or review various communication materials for style, understanding and consistency in messaging
  • Consult and provide communications strategy for sensitive messages. This includes developing message strategy, obtaining consensus, drafting, and modifying, and counseling and assisting others related to best practices and approaches with communications
  • Collaborate across EPW (Operations, Experience, Business Readiness) to ensure employee facing content is cohesively designed, managed and maintained
  • Partner with Public Relations to ensure external facing communications are aligned with the internal communication strategy
  • Partner with Empower Experience function to align key messages to support Experience teams' communications with Workplace business.
  • Manage rights to various distribution lists
  • Develop and maintain communication calendar for EPW executive communications

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field (Master's Preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in internal communications, preferably within the wealth management or financial services industry
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Experience working with senior executives and providing strategy communication counsel
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, intranet platforms and internal social media
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical skills to measure communication effectives and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to advocate for ideas and influence others, social media experience a plus
  • Must be highly motivated, detailed and deadline-oriented, adaptable and creative.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams
  • Experience working within a global organization

Base Salary Range

$129,100.00 - $187,225.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
