Student Intern - Health Plan Finance Encounter

Summary:

A meaningful educational experience for a college student to gain valuable experience in their field of study; while accomplishing tasks and completing projects in an enriching environment. The Intern will gain networking opportunities that include interactions with CHRISTUS leaders and Associates. The Intern will be provided with a variety of projects to support learning objectives in CHRISTUS Health Plan's Finance Encounter team.

Responsibilities:

  • Submit medical and pharmacy claims to ensure compliance with program requirements and deadlines
  • Review and reconcile medical and pharmacy claims to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Identify discrepancies or gaps in claims data across Medicare Advantage, Healthcare Exchange, and US Family Health Plan programs.
  • Support data analysis to uncover trends, issues, and areas for process improvement.
  • Provide regular progress updates, flagging potential concerns or roadblocks to senior team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

Requirements:

Experience:


  • At lease 2 years of college preparation towards major.

Education:


  • Currently enrolled in a College degree program in one of the following degree program; [Accounting, Business Administration, Communication, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Health Administration, Information Systems, Management, Mathematics, Public Health, Statistics or something similar].
  • PC and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work with others.
  • Quick learner with attention to detail, high degree of confidentiality and solid organizational skills.
  • Needs to be resourceful, innovative and persuasive with ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
