Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for a Supervisor Shipping/Receiving to join our Metal Forming organization on the 2nd shift. This position will be based out of our Royal Oak Manufacturing Facility in Royal Oak, Michigan.

As a Supervisor Shipping/Receiving, one will coordinate and supervise the receipt, verification, and processing of incoming shipments, as well as the packing and preparation of outgoing products. They will lead a team responsible for detailed shipment review, condition assessment, and accurate record-keeping. They will also ensure all shipping/receiving activities align with established company and regulatory standards.

Job Description

  • Supervises shipping/receiving team members by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, mentoring, and counseling individuals; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.

  • Ensures adherence to inbound and outbound window times.

  • Records receipt of raw product by comparing count to bill of lading; notes receiving discrepancies and supports root cause analysis..

  • Supervises the loading/unloading of raw components and finished goods.

  • Supervises shot blasting and sorting operations.

  • Keeps shipping/receiving equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy receiving environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.

  • Provides shipping/receiving information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • 2+ years experience supervising production staff preferred.

  • Automotive experience preferred.

  • Union experience preferred.

  • Availability and willingness to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as requested.
