Reingold's Internship Program
A Reingold intern has high standards and a fearless mindset. Our interns are energetic, innovative, take initiative, and demonstrate professionalism in everything they do. This internship program is your opportunity to discover what it really means to work for a full-service communications agency. You'll learn the ins and outs of your department, work as a valued member of project teams, and collaborate with experts in various departments. Reingold offers you opportunities to tailor the internship experience to your interests and strengths - all while working on causes that really matter.

Internships are full time (40 hours) during the standard workweek and pay an hourly rate of $20 hourly. The internship class begins on Thursday, June 5, and runs through Friday, November 21. Core hours during the internship are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. This internship requires five in-office days (Monday - Friday) at our office in Alexandria, Virginia.

What It Means to be a Reingold Front-End Developer Intern
When you visit a cool website, do you ever right-click to view its source code? Do you find yourself asking how the same code on your desktop can adapt to your phone? Have you ever wondered how accessible websites work? If so, Reingold may be the place for you!
At Reingold, you'll join a community of experienced and supportive front-end developers that help you learn how to convert designs into front-end code and build reusable and accessible templates.

Intern responsibilities may include:
  • Enhancing and debugging web features, and participating in requirements gathering and design reviews.
  • Maintaining process flow and documentation, and working from written specifications and guidelines.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to bring a web design mockup to life in the browser.
  • Modeling components for content management systems, considering both the end-user and authoring experience.
  • Performing ad hoc tasks, depending on your skills and our needs.

We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
  • Formal training in computer science or web development, either through a 4-year college program or immersive professional training program.
  • Strong skills in semantic HTML, modern CSS, and familiarity with SCSS.
  • Familiarity with "vanilla" JavaScript and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Ability to write self-documenting, scalable code.
  • Ability to use established development tools, guidelines, and conventions, including Visual Studio Code, and Git source control.
  • Experience with PatternLab, Storybook.js, and atomic design is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to consult and collaborate with senior management and clients.
  • Curious, problem-solving attitude.
