Fixation Driver As a Fixation Driver you will be responsible for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste to our landfill for proper disposal.
Essential Functions & Requirements:
- Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
- Loads and unloads bulk solid hazardous materials from dump trucks and roll-offs
- Prior to driving transportation equipment, prepares for daily trip by inspecting vehicle and equipment, fueling truck, and ensuring all equipment is in excellent operating order
- Maintains logbook for Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance and State and Federal regulations
- Drives between Arcwood locations to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste material to the next facility for unloading and disposal
- Completes manifests, bills of lading, Company documents, and other marking and placarding documents for every load managed, following all DOT regulations
- Ensure regulatory compliance with hazardous waste (RCRA) and DOT regulations
- Climbs equipment to line boxes or perform other tasks; works with bows, tarps and liners
- Maintains ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection and respirator
- Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
Education:
- High-school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience:
- 1+ years of Class B CDL driving experience (required)
- Ability to drive manual and automatic commercial vehicles (required)
- Hazmat endorsement (required)
- Tanker endorsement (preferred)
- Class A CDL driving experience (preferred)
Competencies:
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with both internal and external customers
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator
- Ability to understand RCRA compliance standards, OSHA safety and DOT regulations
- Ability to meet company driving qualifications with a CDL
- Ability to obtain valid endorsements as required
- Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
