We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Japan Lawyer (Product Expert) to join our team. As a key member of our Product Management Organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and adoption of our innovative legal solutions in Japan. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your legal expertise and product management skills to drive business growth and deliver unparalleled value to top law firms and legal departments in Japan.

About the Role:
As a Japan Lawyer with product management expertise, you will:

  • Provide legal expertise and guidance to our product development team to ensure our legal solutions meet the needs of the Japanese market
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement product strategies, roadmaps, and initiatives for our legal solutions in Japan
  • Work closely with customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to understand market needs, identify opportunities, and develop targeted solutions
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies in the Japanese legal market
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of our legal solutions, including their features, functionality, and applications
  • Provide product feedback and recommendations to our engineering and development teams to ensure our solutions meet customer needs and exceed expectations
  • Assist in the development of business cases, revenue forecasts, and other strategic planning documents to support product growth and investment in Japan

About You:
To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A Japan law degree
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of practice experience in a law firm or in-house setting in Japan
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese law and the Japanese legal system
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Fluency in Japanese, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights
  • Experience using online legal research and practice tools

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with product management methodologies,
  • Familiarity with design thinking and user experience principles
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other emerging technologies
  • Experience working with sales teams, including sales support, training, and enablement

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $80,640 - $149,760.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
