About This Role
Responsibilities include providing clerical support for faculty, such as making travel arrangements, ordering supplies, processing reimbursements, and assisting with other departmental accounting. Provides clerical support for departmental committees and program directors by scheduling meetings, recording minutes, and maintaining files. Effective conduct of these responsibilities requires interpersonal skills, accuracy, written communication skills, and knowledge of various policies and procedures.
Other responsibilities include serving as an initial point of contact in the office by answering phones and assisting students, faculty, and staff. Maintains departmental office, updates departmental website and performs other related duties as required. Effective conduct of these responsibilities requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of departmental, state, and university procedures and file protocol so the department is fully equipped and functions effectively and efficiently.

Worksite Option

This position is on-site.

This position is required to be performed on-site for 20-32 hours per week. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location. Flexible work arrangements may be available upon request, depending on the situation.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • One year of relevant work experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Knowledge of computers, office equipment, software, and operating systems
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office/365 or Google Workspace
  • Some post-high school education
  • Experience in an academic setting
  • Knowledge of university academic policies, procedures, and recordkeeping systems
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, alumni, and other stakeholders
  • Two years of relevant work experience

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
