Position Summary
This position contributes to the design and delivery of research projects and collaborates with researchers to develop, execute and interpret research projects. Performs complex laboratory and data collection techniques.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Principle Investigator and researchers to develop objectives and design of research projects and proposals.
  • Formulate and conduct scientific experiments and analyses. Performs complex data collection and laboratory techniques. Analyze and evaluate test and research results.
  • Use the Leica Aperio AT2, Akoya Vectra, and other digital microscopy imaging systems as well as image analysis software tools such as ImageJ, Indicalabs HALO, Akoya inForm and MatLab to complete imaging projects.
  • Learn basic histology of human and animal tissues.
  • Assist in developing image analysis methodologies and algorithms for use in research applications.
  • Perform data transformations and data cleaning services for facility users.
  • Aid facility users in the preparation of grants, manuscripts and presentations including providing detailed method descriptions and assessing the feasibility of research proposals.
  • Assist in maintaining billing and other administrative data for the core facility. Provide cost estimates for facility users.
  • Create posters, graphs and tables for publication and grant applications.
  • Research study data entry, error checking and basic statistical analysis.
  • Interact with pathologists and medical scientists on imaging related tasks.
  • Train study personnel on imaging techniques.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in science or related field required. Master's degree in science preferred.
    • A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
    • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
    • Proficient in specific lab research techniques.
