Pharmacy Technician (Liaison)

CPS Solutions is seeking a highly motivated customer service-oriented Pharmacy Technician (Liaison) professional who wants to elevate their career to the next level in the specialty pharmacy arena. Join a growing team at our CPS Solutions / Erie County Medical Center location in Buffalo, NY. This role will provide outstanding customer service, work alongside clinical pharmacists, interact with physicians and healthcare professionals, contact insurance companies and help find payment assistance programs for our patients. This role will be mainly dispensing within the retail pharmacy.

Starting Pay: $20-23 per hour (depending on related work experience) + bonus eligibility

This position is eligible for a Sign-on/Retention Bonus up to $3,000

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting patients upon arrival to the clinic
  • Explaining the benefits of our specialty pharmacy and successfully enrolling patients into the program
  • Performing all insurance benefit investigations, prior authorization, claim rejects, overrides, etc.
  • Working with patients to find financial aid (grants, manufacture programs, discount cards, etc.) to ensure they have access to the medications they need
  • Data/order entry and verification of patient information
  • Providing direct support to enrolled patients to ensure that they are supported throughout their therapy regimen and achieve their intended outcome. This includes:
    • Conducting outbound phone calls for patient support, adherence checks and refill reminders
    • Appropriately triaging any clinical questions to the appropriate clinician (pharmacist, nurse or provider)
    • Participating in conference and workshops to help promote CPS

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as a pharmacy liaison or technician highly preferred
  • Registered, or the ability to become registered as a pharmacy technician in the state of NY
  • Experience interacting with physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals (preferably in a medical clinic)
  • Knowledge of benefits investigation, prior authorization support, and patient financial assistance work highly preferred
  • Strong people skills and the ability to work with teams across customers
  • Proficiency in standard workplace software (e.g., MS Office), EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, or Meditech), and dispensing systems (e.g., QS1, RX30, or Computer Rx) highly preferred
  • The ability to start from scratch, execute quickly and accurately without pre-defined processes and protocols, and an interest in defining such processes for the future
  • The patience to adapt to patients' and customers' preferences and processes, while always upholding CPS standards

And bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in a health system specialty pharmacy as an in-clinic liaison
  • Experience working with various disease states

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof ofnegativeTB skin test within thelast 12 months

  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
