As a Financial Consultant on our Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you will play a pivotal role in developing key financial reports leveraged by senior leadership and the Board of Directors (BOD) to support quarterly earnings, BOD meetings and the Investor Conference. You will work closely with Finance and Accounting teams across the enterprise to assist in report development and draw conclusions based on your financial analysis. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting team members with financial modeling, forecasting, analysis of performance metrics and other ad hoc requests from leadership. Your analysis and reporting will be vital in our continued effort to deliver on financial performance at UHG.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Prepare core team deliverables, including executive reporting, that support quarterly earnings releases, board meetings, monthly close reporting and annual investor day
  • Develop, perform and manage analyses of business, financial and performance metrics
  • Develop and maintain financial models and reports used to communicate budgeted/forecasted performance, actual results and variances to forecast and budget to leadership
  • Develop, perform and manage models and deliverables as it relates to financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Work closely with the business to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans and processes related to team reporting and analytics, which will be shared with senior leadership to aid in decision making
  • Function as a key resource to leadership on ad hoc analyses and pro forma requests
  • Continually seek opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality control and reporting capabilities

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • 3+ years of Finance and/or Accounting experience
  • Experience driving business performance in a high growth environment
  • Work experience in accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, assessing financial implications and developing and implementing an appropriate action plan
  • Proficiency in MS Office - Intermediate to expert level experience in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven track record supporting senior leaders and executives
  • Proven advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven advanced attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment while positively influencing other functional areas



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Experience within the healthcare sector
  • Experience preparing executive level financial presentations and commentary
  • Experience developing and working with financial models
  • Hyperion Essbase and Peoplesoft experience
  • Executive presence



The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
