Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Operating Room Technician - Per Diem - NSG-Operating Room - Per Diem - 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM Varied Days.

In this role, the successful candidate Under the supervision of the RN this role involves planning and delivering safe therapeutic and age appropriate care. The individual works closely with a multidisciplinary health team to enhance wellness and optimize patient outcomes . They provide the surgical team with the essential instruments sutures special equipment and materials required for surgery ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques. They also assist in circulating gathering instruments supplies and equipment during the surgical procedure. Additionally, they participate in performance improvement activities at the unit department and institutional levels that impact patient and service outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

Adheres to regulatory guidelines and institutional policies regarding safety standards, infection control, and equipment handling.

Takes corrective actions when discrepancies in counts are identified. Provides equipment and supplies based on patient needs.

Performs other assigned duties as required.

Observes the patient's clinical status and reports findings to the RN. Addresses patient concerns in accordance with the established communication hierarchy. Actively participates in identifying and solving problems in the work environment.

Reviews the plan of care during the perioperative period, monitors any deviations, and adjusts the plan under the RNs direction. Observes the patients progress alongside the RN.

Supplies the surgical team with the required instruments, sutures, special equipment, and materials, while maintaining strict aseptic technique. Monitors potential and actual changes in the patients care needs, notifying the RN and following the updated care plan as directed.

Participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, mentorship, and the orientation and education of new employees. Offers assistance and support to team members. Attends and contributes to staff meetings and in-services and stays current with knowledge in relevant practice areas.

Communicates with patients and healthcare team members. Identifies and addresses potential issues or refers them through the appropriate chain of command using the escalation policy. Ensures all documentation is legible.

Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent required 1 2 years of operating room experience preferred Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program Certification exam must be taken and passed within 12 months of completion of surgical technology program Current and valid Basic Life Support BLS Course Completion through AHA Effective communication both written and oral critical thinking problem solving detail orientation interpersonal and customer service skills Basic computer skills Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations.

Required Licenses: Cert Surgical Technologist

Preferred Qualifications:
1 2 years in a Surgical Technologist role
