Focus: The Manufacturing Systems Specialist will work with Engineering teams, IT Applications, Network IT, Information Security & suppliers to facilitate the breakdown of silos between Information Technology ("IT") and Operational Technology ("OT"). Responsible for bridging the gap between critical data systems from the plant floor up through the enterprise.
Manufacturing Systems Specialist Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate construction, maintenance, and expansion of the systems and software connecting business IT and manufacturing operations; Integrate systems to support a single view of enterprise information and system management tools.
- Analyze, design, and improve IT and OT results through expansion of a data centric model; Develop IT/OT project roadmaps and workflows.
- Identify, evaluate, and execute integration of existing software solution roadmaps to meet organizational outcomes and continual improvement for both new and existing enterprise models.
- Bridge data connectivity gaps through the interconnection of disparate systems (software, data, control).
- Lead the management of systems and network documentation and maintain business level systems and communication flows.
- Facilitate, lead, document and publish Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities; Record, track, and report status of action items.
- Responsible for documentation and management of process level activities of L0 through L4 of Purdue model.
Manufacturing Systems Specialist Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree* in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in related information systems experience; 7+ years of experience preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing (OT) and business (IT) devices, software, and network systems.
- Advanced technical skills, with highly proficient technical writing capabilities; Ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Capable in project and user-testing management; Ability to prioritize responsibilities and shift focus as needed.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely to determine acceptable solutions.
- Must have comprehension of and experience with instrumentation, control, HMI, DCS, and SCADA platforms.
- Understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts and how they can be used to benefit current manufacturing processes preferred.
- Experience with or understanding of ANSI/ISA-95 international standard on Enterprise-Control System Integration is desirable.
Location-Specific Requirements:
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
- This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government-facility requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen.
