JOB TITLE: Agent Headquartered in both Kansas City and Topeka, Evergy employs about 4,900 people who are dedicated to empowering a better future. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Agent in Emporia, Kansas. AGENT- "Agents shall be Journeyman Linemen who have the experience and ability to perform customer service, public relations and community involvement. They must be skilled in troubleshooting on the electric system in their assigned area. Must have personal characteristics suitable for making contact with customers and the public as well as initiative to work without direct supervision. Agents must be physically able, and will be required, to perform as a Journeyman when necessary." * Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards from disturbed or fallen lines or to facilitate repairs. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following: * Safety - The job requires the utmost attention paid to safety in all instances. The successful applicant will be expected to be responsive to call outs and must possess/maintain a valid commercial driver's license. Permanent Primary Residence within approved boundary centered around Council Grove Substation. Successful applicant will be expected to relocate within 6 months. Selected applicants will be required to perform and successfully complete a written test as well as a skills demonstration. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
