Job Summary
The Rehabilitation Services Supervisor 2 is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Acute Care Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P) and Orthopedic Support Services (Cast Tech) sections, under the supervision of the Department Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implement and maintain systems and procedures established by the Department Manager
- Provide daily oversight of clinical staff
- Oversee and conduct ongoing job training
- Troubleshoot administrative challenges, including workflow and technical issues
- Write performance evaluations
- Monitor and approve timesheets
- Keep staff focused and motivated
- Systems management and maintenance
- Help resolve IT issues
- Monitore employee productivity
- Demonstrate proficiency in using university policies and systems

- Current certification in Orthotics (CO) OR a Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics (CPO) from either the American Board for Certification (ABC) or Board of Certification (BOC)
- Must possess American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification or UC Davis Health CPR
- Must possess a Bachelor's degree in a closely related area OR equivalent experience/training
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a CO or CPO post-certification
- Demonstrated recent Supervisory OR leadership experience including employee selection, trainining, motivation, employee recognization, and performance evaluations of staff, and ensurance operational success
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, joint function, body pressure landmarks, measuring points, sterile techniques, lifting and molding techniques, and the safe use of power and hand tools, as well as Orthotic theory and practices
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals at all levels within the organization to secure and provide information, clarify situations, resolve problems, and support the organization's goals
- Comprehensive understanding of universal and isolation precautions when working with patients
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and efficiently manage project assignments, even under the pressure of deadlines, frequent interruptions, and conflicting priorities
- Demonstrated ability to carefully read written or verbal directions and then accurately complete task based on those instructions
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctorate degree in a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience in an Acute care hospital
- Demonstrated experience in an academic hospital setting
- Demonstrated minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role

Work Environment
- UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. - Must possess the mobility required to move throughout the institution to serve patients.
- The position may also require working with severely injured and disabled patients in high-stress environments, such as intensive care units, surgery, and burn units.
