The University of Missouri School of Medicine Missouri Kidney Program Job Description
This role is responsible for managing a designated group of program participants (patients with qualifying kidney disease), dialysis and transplant facilities. Key duties include reviewing, processing, approving and renewing participant applications for financial assistance with transportation, medications and private premium assistance through direct communication with social workers, caseworkers and participants. The position also involves assessing and monitoring the insurance status of each participant, answering phone calls and emails promptly, processing billing documents submitted by facilities for reimbursements and conducting compliance reviews as needed in accordance with University policy and Missouri Kidney Program guidelines. Additionally, the position requires monitoring MO HealthNet Family Support Division Income Guidelines, the Spend Down Program, Ticket to Work and other programs that may impact Mo Kidney Program. The role will also involve collaborating with the Centralized Drug Program Pharmacy to address pharmacy-related issues, including third-party verifications, patient profiles, medication delivery and eligibility. The position will require the development of expertise in insurance options for Missourians with end-stage kidney disease, balancing patient needs with the program's financial stability. This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Communication will take place via phone, email and in person with healthcare providers, patients, family members, state departments and insurers. Confidentiality of all patient/participant information is essential. The position also requires strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a small, focused team environment. This role will provide guidance, education and training to both new and experienced social workers on all program requirements, including Medicare and MO HealthNet. This will involve preparing and delivering webinars, written materials and presentations for social worker training/orientation, as well as for participants, providers and stakeholders. The position will also collaborate with the team to plan and execute special events and meetings, including conference exhibitions. Additionally, this role will assist in managing the website and other social media content. Shift
Shift Type: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's in Social Work, Public Health Anticipated Hiring Range
