Join the Olympic Disposal team, a proud Waste Connections company, as a Class B CDL Residential Driver in Sequim, WA! We're looking for a reliable and safety-focused individual to help us serve the community. While prior waste experience is a plus, it's not required - we're more interested in finding someone dependable and ready to make an impact! The schedule is Monday to Friday, with a start time of 6:00 AM, averaging 45 hours per week. You will be home every night! The starting pay range is $26.00 to $27.00 per hour. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely operate a garbage truck along designated routes to collect solid waste. Prior waste experience is preferred but not required. Read route sheets and service customers as directed by the dispatcher. Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires. Perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading waste, sometimes without assistance. Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and dispose of refuse at designated facilities. Maintain courteous interactions with customers and complete other job-related tasks as assigned. Work Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed, totaling around 45 hours per week. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This role involves extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and requires adherence to basic safety protocols. Employees are exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as fumes and vibrations. The noise level is usually moderate. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. At least 2 years of related experience. Basic knowledge of truck components to conduct pre- and post-trip inspections.
