Join the Olympic Disposal team, a proud Waste Connections company, as a Class B CDL Residential Driver in Sequim, WA!

We're looking for a reliable and safety-focused individual to help us serve the community. While prior waste experience is a plus, it's not required - we're more interested in finding someone dependable and ready to make an impact!

The schedule is Monday to Friday, with a start time of 6:00 AM, averaging 45 hours per week. You will be home every night!

The starting pay range is $26.00 to $27.00 per hour.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safely operate a garbage truck along designated routes to collect solid waste. Prior waste experience is preferred but not required.

  • Read route sheets and service customers as directed by the dispatcher.

  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.

  • Perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading waste, sometimes without assistance.

  • Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and dispose of refuse at designated facilities.

  • Maintain courteous interactions with customers and complete other job-related tasks as assigned.

  • Work Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed, totaling around 45 hours per week.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This role involves extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds.

  • The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and requires adherence to basic safety protocols.

  • Employees are exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as fumes and vibrations. The noise level is usually moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • At least 2 years of related experience.

  • Basic knowledge of truck components to conduct pre- and post-trip inspections.

  • SAFETY SENSITIVE-YES:The job offer is contingent upon successfully passing a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
