Your role as the Lieutenant, Security:
- Directly responsible for the operations of their assigned shift including but not limited to directing guard personnel, assigning patrol duties, ensuring perimeter security, maintaining line security, training, conducting investigations, overseeing searches, managing the day-to-day non-emergency activities, and providing personnel performance counseling when applicable.
- Responsible for monitoring Closed Caption Television (CCTV), Emergency Management Information System (EMIS), Intrusion Detection System (IDS) alarm system, and dispatching Security, Fire/Ambulance, Mechanical/Maintenance, and Senior management personnel when applicable.
- Communicates and routes all inquiries of the Security Department pertaining to Security related issues and providing guard support whenever applicable.
- Maintains and audits internal security logs and documentation; including but not limited to gun, equipment, and key inventory control.
- Serves as the first point of contact for the Security Department to all plant personnel, comprehends and understands the necessity to continuously improve security processes and procedures under his/her control.
- Obtains/maintains an NCIC Interstate Identification Index (III) certification; performs and adjudicates NCIC III background checks and assures that all records and personal observations are kept in the strictest confidence.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Ability to multi-task during demanding and stressful situations. Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret standard operating procedures, administrative policy & procedures, and government regulatory information. Ability to quickly adapt to changes in routine/environment/activities when applicable. Demonstrate ability to communicate professionally with various interdepartmental and government personnel. Ability to represent the Security Department in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
- Ability to participate and pass an annual company Physical, Physical Ability Test (PAT), and successfully meet Individual Reliability Program (IRP) requirements. Ability to acquire and maintain an active security clearance at the "Secret" level.
- Able to pass a bi-annual weapons qualification with various weapons systems.
- Proficient in use of computer operating software, Outlook, Microsoft programs, and other applicable software programs. Ability to obtain and maintain and NCIC III certification and conduct required NCIC III background checks on personnel.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively lead and train all subordinate employees while maintaining the Security Department's and AO's overall mission.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Valid Drivers License
* Associates Degree in Criminal Justice preferred, or a minimum of Three years of associated work experience.
* Two years of experience within supervision; preferably law enforcement, security or military
* IOWA/NCIC Interstate Identification Index
* Ability to pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check
* Ability to obtain and maintain an active security clearance

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $55,040 - $82,560.
This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
