What You Will Do:

The groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining general maintenance to groundsand gardens, will perform landscaping and related responsibilities to maintain the Winery property,equipment, and grounds in a manner that demonstrates the Winery's commitment to the highest qualityof care, sustainable farming practices and energy and resource conservation. Performs all work inaccordance with established safety procedures.

This role will perform plant landscaping for Rombauer and operating a variety of gas and electric-powered tools, including mowers, tractors, sprayers, weed-eaters, blowers, chainsaws, and hedgers. Responsibilities include applying pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides; maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and weed control; and installing and repairing sprinkler systems, timers, and lines as needed. The role requires maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work and storage area, reporting unsafe conditions to site management, and providing recommendations for correction. Ensuring all landscaping equipment is maintained in safe working order and maintaining storm drains to ensure clear drainage to wastewater ponds or creeks are also essential duties. Accurate records of daily activities, equipment maintenance, consumable inventories, mileage, purchases, and other relevant data must be kept. The position may also involve engaging in special projects as assigned and working with vendors. Maintaining satisfactory attendance and timeliness is crucial, along with understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 1 year experience landscaping,production, operations, or construction environment.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Internal/external customer service experience.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (ifapplicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm ahistory of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate statedriver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Basic computer skills, specifically email and simple data entry.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training,meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of thetime, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, ifapplicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable,as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of experience inlandscaping, production, operations, or construction environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical processes.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Range Posted: $21.44 / hr - $28.94 / hr
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
