In this role you will assist in executing and maintaining Quality Assurance (QA) programs for excipients, human food, and animal feed production. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with FDA, GMP, and IPEC standards while driving continuous improvement through HACCP implementation. The Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for managing documentation, investigating complaints and non-conformances, and leading corrective actions to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. You will also oversee product data and quality information within the SAP system, ensuring accurate entry of inspection results and seamless product release. This role is an opportunity to make an impact, strengthen Roquette's quality standards, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing and product management. This is a One Year-Fixed-term position and is located in our Gurnee, IL The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $87,000- $90,000. specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location. What You'll Do:
- Assist in the execution of Roquette's Quality Assurance programs for manufacturing operations related to excipients, human food, and animal feed production
- Assist in the execution of FDA and GMP compliance, HACCP implementation, documentation, complaint investigation, non-conformance investigation as well as minor technical support related to Quality.
- Support the execution of Quality department initiatives to achieve site Quality and Food Safety KPIs.
- Follow direction for the implementation of QA management and food safety programs.
- Approve product release and determining finished product disposition.
- Conduct statistical analysis, problem solving and trouble shooting.
- Perform task-based Quality Assurance responsibilities per the direction of site Quality Assurance Management.
- Contribute to Quality culture improvement goals.
- Perform reviews of manufacturing and quality control records.
- Prepare records for food and excipient ingredient manufacturing.
- Perform facility inspections to ensure good manufacturing practices are performed. Report results to Quality and Operations management.
- Be an active member of site HACCP teams (PCQI training is preferred).
- Assist with the internal audit program.
- Assist with the preparation, performance, and follow-up of customer, certification, and regulatory audits.
- Assist Quality Control and Operations with nonconformance investigations.
- Work closely with production, supply chain, sales and customer care teams to ensure seamless integration of quality assurance practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards, including ISO, GMP, IPEC and HACCP
- Support the Change Control Program.
- Prepare/revise site Quality documentation.
- Assist the Global Customer Quality Request system by answering technical questions associated with Roquette Quality programs and products.
- Collaborate with production & supply chain teams to troubleshoot and resolve SAP-related issues.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures.
What You'll Need: Education:
- BS degree in a chemistry, biology, food science or related technical field
Experience:
- 2-5 years of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry
- Understanding of FSMA for human food and animal feed (PCQI certification is a plus)
- Understanding IPEC / Excipient guidelines and requirements
- Previous Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience in food or pharmaceutical excipient manufacturing
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position. Days and flexible hours of work are required to meet facility demands.
Business Travel:
- This position may require up to 10% business travel.
