Job Description

With two primary US locations in Auburn Hills and New Hudson Michigan, Atlas Copco, IAS is the global leader in industrial dispensing, self-pierce riveting and flow drill fastening systems.

Atlas Copco, IAS is one of the leading manufacturers of adhesive bonding, dispensing, and potting systems for synthetic resins or thermally conductive pastes. Our Scheugenpflug product line has an unparalleled reputation in the micro-dispense industry and one that has consistently increased our customer base year after year because of superior problem-solving skills, sales, and service. We work directly with manufacturers, using state-of-the-art technology to bring product lines to the market.

This position is located onsite at the IAS Innovation Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, located 25 miles north of Detroit.

Mission:

  • Development of customer-specific and sustainable solutions in the context of customer trials and process engineering challenges
  • Advising our international customers on the design and optimization of component-specific bonding and dispensing processes
  • Independent planning, preparation, implementation, evaluation and documentation of customer tests
  • Preparation of test reports and associated presentations of results
  • Active participation in global knowledge transfer

Daily work within the role:

  • Learn the product line Scheugenpflug and become proficient in it (understand products, hardware requirements, connectivity, how to use, how to analyze data, benefits and dashboard use)
  • Work together with teams to get connected and to centralize data
  • Estimated 70% of the role would be hands-on in lab environments performing tests
  • Estimated 20% Preparation and follow-up of tests
  • Estimated 10% presentation and documentation of customer tests

Candidate should possess the following:

  • An excitement about process improvement, documentation, and a willingness to spend time in an industrial environment hands-on (Innovation Center or lab equivalent)
  • A "team player" attitude
  • Aptitude and willingness to consequently document and detail results of projects worked on
  • Preferably: experience with data management tools, databases, data analysis, or reporting of data
  • Preferably: experience in CNC programming
  • Preferably: experience with AI and database tools
  • Preferably: experience working in an industrial environment, lab, or other
  • Preferably: experience with 3D-CAD Software
  • Preferably: Knowledge in the field of reactive adhesives and/or potting compounds desirable
