DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Program Specialist 2 is responsible for providing back-up and support for the functions of intake, eligibility, and enrollment for Westmoreland County residents to obtain waiver services in accordance with the requirements set forth by the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) that are administered through Westmoreland County Developmental Services Department. This position will develop, monitor, and analyze any assigned outcomes within the Developmental Services Quality Management Plan and maintain overall data collection and analysis related to referrals, intakes, diagnoses, and timeframes for completion to enhance the access of service delivery. Responsibilities will include contacting the contracted psychologist and engaging in discussion about collected records when diagnostic clarification is being sought. You will have the opportunity to develop resources for training and educating stakeholders and community members and maintain current handbook information given at the time of intake. The Program Specialist 2 may also complete a standardized assessment (ADOS-2) for individuals in need of assessment for a diagnosis of autism and do not currently have a formalized assessment. This professional will also be responsible for conducting Certified Investigations following the Office of Developmental Programs Incident Management requirements. Both remote and field work are included with this position. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Occasional need to work or attend meetings after hours or on weekends. Compensation provided.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, 2 days per week after completion of six months probation and a county application for telework. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in downtown Greensburg located behind the courthouse.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1; or
- Three years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelors degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Westmoreland County. If no eligible candidates who live within Westmoreland County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
