The Vice President of Global Sourcing is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing the best possible suppliers, factory partners and materials from around the world to meet a company's needs to supply quality VSP produced Frames, Lenses, Coatings, Cases and Accessories. This position plays a crucial role in optimizing the supply chain, reducing costs, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. They are also the bridge between the company and its global suppliers, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and fortified supply chain.

Support the production teams in the ethical sourcing of ~$500M annually to generate +$850M of profit, and +25 Global factory partners. P&L line responsibility for the Product Cost.

Responsible for the quality assurance and supplier partner standards for all products sold worldwide.

Analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities, i.e. tariff mitigation strategies.

Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.

Develop cost-effective sourcing strategies.

Research and identify potential suppliers globally.

Conduct thorough evaluations to assess supplier capabilities, quality, pricing, and delivery performance.

Develop and implement supplier qualification processes to support human rights manufacturing standards.

Identify and assess potential supply chain risks (e.g., human rights, geopolitical, economic, natural disasters).

Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.

Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and trade agreements.

Stay updated on global market trends and pricing fluctuations.

Identify new sourcing opportunities and emerging markets.

Develop sourcing strategies to leverage market conditions.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial and/or mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.

Ten or more years of experience with clear progression to senior leadership/ management roles, leading a motivating cross-functional interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic goals.

Demonstrate a broad understanding of corporate functions outside area of expertise.

Ability to influence and collaborate across the organization with key internal and external business leaders, partners, suppliers, and customers.

Ability to apply a variety of strategic frameworks to analyze problems and to guide and develop solutions.

Ability to understand the impact of technology on processes and structure.

Deep understanding of global supply chain management, sourcing and logistics.

Expertise in international trade and customs regulations.

Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.

Proficiency in contract law and procurement regulations.

Proficiency in utilizing manufacturing management systems and technologies.

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Deep understanding of global markets and consumer behavior.

Proven track-record in merchandising and product development.

Strong financial management operating experience and knowledge of business acumen to include investment and budget management.

Working Conditions

The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust etc.
