Summary of Job Duties:The Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs works closely with the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs to provide intellectual leadership for all academic units at the University. The Associate Vice Chancellor works with academic units to develop new programs, prepares and submits all academic affairs reports to the Arkansas Division of Higher Education (ADHE). The Associate Vice Chancellor also prepares reports for the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees. The Associate Vice Chancellor assures compliance with legislative and ADHE acts and policies that are relevant to academic programs; coordinates program reviews, approvals, and accreditation activities; chairs the University Assessment Committee; and is a member of the HLC Steering Committee. The Associate Vice Chancellor is responsible for compliance with authorization to offer distance education courses to students in other states. The Associate Vice Chancellor assists with the formation and facilitation of new partnerships and performs other duties assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Qualifications:

A terminal degree with higher education experience required. Commitment to a "student centered" mission is necessary. Understanding assessment of academic programs following HLC guidelines is required. Requires strong leadership, written/oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills with broad knowledge of administrative functions including strategic planning, student advisement and assessment, program planning, and curriculum development.
