Job Duties |
Primary Purpose of Position: The Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development/Life Skills will help facilitate the growth and development of the Student-Athlete Development programs. In collaboration with the Director of Student-Athlete Development, the Assistant Director will ensure student-athletes are provided with relevant support services and programming in areas such as career development, personal development, health and wellness, community service, and leadership.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletics Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services, duties and responsibilities for the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development/Life Skills include, but are not limited to, the following:
Evaluate & Enhance Life Skills Programming (60%)
- Create a comprehensive and strategic program that provides student-athletes with tangible skills required to be lifelong leaders
- Research, organize, plan, promote, and evaluate educational and informational workshops covering topics such as career services, leadership and personal development, communication skills, ATOD, and nutrition.
- Help plan and execute a Leadership Academy for student-athletes
- Assist in development and execution of NIL education for student-athletes
Athletics & Campus Outreach (15%)
- Advise Director on collaborative relationships with campus departments such as the Career Center, Campus Recreation and Wellness, Center for Counseling and Student Development, and Student Health to provide Life Skills services to Student-Athletes
Community Outreach (15%)
- Evaluate and organize community outreach initiatives that encourage more student involvement
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director, Student-Athlete Academic Services (10%)
- Nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and travel may be required in the performance of duties.
- Abide by all written policies and procedures of ECU, the Department of Athletics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.
