Position Overview

This position will support the Controller in providing financial support to the division including cost accounting, financial planning, variance analysis, month-end reporting, as well as other accounting-related duties. Responsibilities may expand with increased technical and divisional expertise.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory activity to ensure the accuracy of inventory levels by performing physical counts regularly.
  • Assist in compiling and processing vendor quality claim documentation.
  • Help with routine cost accounting update processes, including calculating and processing material costs and machine rates within the divisional financial system.
  • Analyze production job closeouts against estimates to identify, investigate, and explain variances.
  • Monitor machine runtime and prepare analyses for production teams to evaluate plant performance.
  • Process customer credit applications and monitor customer receivable balances.
  • Assist with customer price update processes, including calculating and processing customer price adjustments.
  • Review customer invoice drafts to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Assist in processing vendor invoices by compiling and reviewing purchase-related documents, and entering transactions into the divisional financial system once approved.
  • Provide support to production and sales teams by compiling data and preparing analyses.
  • Complete special projects that align with divisional objectives.
  • Track and report on capital project activities.
  • Prepare routine reports for various departments within the division.
  • Assist with month-end financial close processes.
  • Perform reconciliations of divisional data with corporate records.
  • Maintain documentation of business processes.


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, along with a solid understanding of general accounting practices.
  • Attention to detail, emphasizing accuracy and quality.
  • Highly organized self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and edit reports effectively.
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must possess a friendly demeanor and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
