The Role:

The VP, Global Merchandise Manager is a strategic leader who drives global product success by aligning all wholesale and retail product offerings with consumer needs to achieve revenue and EBITDA objectives. Through best-in-class technology, talent and processes this executive is accountable for driving the overall product strategy, go-to-market strategy and assortment planning for the enterprise through a deep understanding of global markets, consumer trends, and the competitive landscape.

Job Functions:



  • Responsible for generating +$1B of Gross Profit through investment of $500M annually. Shared P&L line responsibility for Product Cost % of Revenue (CoGS) and Working Capital Investment levels.
  • Develop Global Product Strategy by aligning product offerings with the company's overall business objectives, considering factors such as target market, brand positioning, and global trends.
  • Create and manage product assortments for different regions, ensuring optimal product mix to meet customer needs and maximize sales.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in various global markets.
  • Work closely with design, sourcing, sales, marketing, and finance teams to ensure seamless product development and launch.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality products, and timely delivery.
  • Analyze sales data and inventory levels to optimize profitability and inventory turnover.
  • Establish and execute a data driven retail training strategy for network businesses on Operating Models, Products, Services and Selling Techniques that deliver quantifiable results.



Job Specifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Ten or more years of experience with clear progression to senior leadership/ management roles, leading a motivating cross-functional interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic goals.
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of corporate functions outside area of expertise.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across the organization with key internal and external business leaders, partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to apply a variety of strategic frameworks to analyze problems and to guide and develop solutions.
  • Ability to influence external organizations and stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand the impact of technology on processes and structure.
  • Strong change management skills
  • Global mindset and cultural sensitivity
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and forecasting skills.
  • Deep understanding of global markets and consumer behavior
  • Proven track-record in merchandising and product development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including negotiation skills.
  • Strong financial management operating experience and knowledge of business acumen to include investment and budget management.
