The Opportunity

Future focused and always one step ahead!

As the Broker Relationship Leader, you will serve as a functional and thought leader in managing broker relationships and development opportunities within the Public Entity sector. Your expert understanding and knowledge of programs and processes will contribute significantly to the business strategy and organizational objectives. You will be responsible for managing large and complex business development plans, identifying new opportunities, and collaborating with various departments to execute these opportunities. This role entails overseeing and impacting areas such as project and account management, budget responsibilities, and achieving balanced scorecard objectives.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement strategies to maximize profit potential for assigned clients and brokers, aligning with divisional priorities and line of business appetite.

* Create, prioritize, and implement forward-looking client and broker strategies that extend beyond transactional relationships.

* Lead client teams in developing new business opportunities and servicing in-force business, ensuring alignment with target objectives.

* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and their designated brokers in matters related to business underwritten in the division.

* Develop and maintain a deep understanding of assigned clients and brokers, fostering strong relationships that provide strategic insights.

* Develop negotiation strategies and tactics to achieve financial objectives for assigned clients, partnering with underwriting, claims, and actuarial teams.

* Demonstrate exceptional market expertise, including understanding broker capabilities and the competitive landscape.

* Represent Munich Re on various teams and manage Broker initiatives within Munich Re Development areas.

* Market the full Munich Re Group product range, pitching new products and services as appropriate for clients' needs.

* Enables and champions innovative problem solving and nontraditional approaches to program design and reviews all aspects of a broker or client's operation and provides

* Participates in Munich Re efforts at Broker industry events in partnership with Marketing Division on regionally focused events, campaigns, promotions, incentives and key account marketing tactics.

* Building internal networks to facilitate information sharing and support enterprise client and broker initiatives.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business and/or equivalent work experience

* Strong background in Distribution Management experience.

* Strong underwriting, marketing and analytical skills that have been proven over 10+ years of insurance/reinsurance and client management experience

* Public Entity insurance lines experience

* Exceptional communication skills that energize and engage clients and colleagues, with the ability to convey a vision and client-focused solutions

* Excellent negotiation and consultative skills which can be deployed at any level of an organization, including creativity, emotional intelligence, adaptability and problem-solving skills

* Tech savviness and a willingness to experiment with and learn new technologies

* Ability to think strategically and function tactically

* Effective project management skills related to execution overall and evaluation of new insurance programs and their in-force management

* Willingness to travel 50%+

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including NYC, San Francisco, and Chicago. The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. This role is designated for Princeton, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Hartford, NYC, San Francisco, or Chicago, and reflects multiple geographies. The offer will be adjusted per geography.

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $174,200 - $290,300, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).

The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the New York City job market. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
