Maintenance General

Job Summary:

The purpose of General Maintenance is to be responsible for keeping the plant clean while assuring proper functioning of the machines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform and log daily water and chemical test on boilers, chillers, and cooling towers.
• Perform daily inspection on all boilers, chillers, and cooling towers.
• Maintain the boiler rooms and chiller room clean and organized.
• Pick up parts from various local vendors as needed.
• Perform weekly test on the fire pump.
• Perform weekly check of all sprinklers and PIV's to make sure the valves are free and remain locked.
• Assist with the filter changes on all the ATO units.
• Check and change all office, lab, break rooms, restrooms, ext. air conditioners air filters.
• Check and replace all blown light bulbs in the offices, lab, break room, and threw out the plant.
• Keep all the boilers and pressure vessels permits posted and up to date.
• Assist with maintain and service all support equipment and help with repairs if needed.
• Keep the plant and grounds clean and free of trash.
• Assist other maintenance person that needs help as needed.
• Responsible for keeping the shop and around the shop clean and organized.
• Perform any additional task(s) as needed for the benefit of the company as requested by management.

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

• Lifting is required, a weight of 25 pounds 50 times per shift.
• Standing and walking are required approximately 8 hours per shift.
• Reaching is required approximately 75 times per shift.
• Stooping is required approximately 50 times per shift for approximately 10 second intervals.
• Bending is required in inspecting carpet approximately 50 times per shift.

Experience/Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be able to do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to work, communicate and get along with fellow employees.
• Help maintain the daily general neatness and cleanliness of the laboratory.

Other Requirements:

• Overtime is required on occasion.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
• All accidents must be reported immediately.
