We are hiring a DevSecOps Engineer to join our team. This person will be working with Github and Snyk to design, build, do gap analysis, propose and engineer solutions that the developers of Thrivent can use and implement into their development. This person needs to have a very keen eye for Security, and how we can use the tools and information at their disposal for better secure development practices. Responsibilities: Proficient in developing the most efficient integration of delivering findings to business owners, including out of box integrations and custom development. The ability to bridge the gap between security findings and how we resolve and/or deliver findings to developers The ability to identify gaps and propose solutions for DevOps security workflows Work closely both security and developer stakeholders Advising other teams on security best practices within our workspace Conduct code reviews and contribute to security product development Provide expert-level troubleshooting and debugging for network security-related issues, as well as assisting with troubleshooting across other security solutions Support on call after hours issues as needed per on call rotation and network security involvement Contribute to develop engineering practices, templates and frameworks in collaboration with the team Apply technical knowledge to drive outcomes for customers Ability to work and problem solve independently on initiatives that align to the broader engineering strategy Participate in team's collaboration sessions to provide technical expertise to solve a problem/remove technical roadblocks for the team Participate in product planning and implementation. Helps team to understand and decompose work Provide guidance to junior engineers to help them learn foundational engineering skills Provide domain expertise on software products in their area to junior engineers to help them learn/grow their skills and contribute as part of the team Qualifications* 7+ years of development experience 3+ years of security engineering experience within a development team Strong custom development experience The ability to translate Information Security requirements into DevOps practices Expertise working with CI/CD pipelines Experience writing Dockerfile, Docker-Compose and K8s Deployment yaml, and IaC with Terraform Development experience in Python (preferred), TypeScript, Java or other programming languages Experience building HTTP server, configure following REST protocol Experience with SQL, NoSQL operations and management Expertise with Git, GitOps, GitHub Actions, and GitHub Workflows Experience with writing tests for code resiliency Sound knowledge of industry standard Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices Perform code reviews with associate team members Solid understanding of information security best practices Expertise in troubleshooting complex issues Exceptional communication skills across technical and business areas Must be self-sufficient and have great attention to detail Thought leader within the DevOps security space Ability to keep up-to-date with security trends in the industry Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
