Role PDW is seeking a Material Flow Process Technician to join our team, to support our material flow and inventory management program. This role plays a critical role in receiving, inspecting, issuing, and maintaining material both systematically in the ERP system and physically in the warehouse and production operation to optimize efficiency and own material flow standards. As a Material Flow Process Technician, you will ensure process and procedures are followed to ensure inventory accuracy and efficient material flow. The ideal candidate will have experience including picking, kitting, work order material issuance, repack, delivery processes, standard work creation, material flow, layout storage organization, systems knowledge, and will play a pivotal role in shaping and operating PDW's manufacturing material flow operations for multiple best-in-class sUAS products.A solid understanding of ERP material movement, inventory accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with excellent critical thinking skills and will be instrumental shaping and operating PDW's manufacturing material flow operations for multiple best-in-class sUAS products. Responsibilities
- Support development of efficient material flow processes with collaboration of internal stakeholders in production operations including subassembly, final assembly, RMA, Rework, Fulfillment, and assets for flight test. Evaluate workstation layouts for material point to maximize efficiency, accessibility, and ergonomics
- Ownership of training materials and training on facility material flow processes and standards with responsibility for ongoing sustainment
- Kitting materials for work orders to support production in a multi-assembly operation combined with capturing time studies and elemental breakdowns to identify efficiency improvement opportunities physically or systematically
- Repacking incoming materials with evaluation of material storage containers with identification and implementation of solutions to support space optimization and ESD sensitive components to prevent handling damage
- Perform receive and put-away transactions into ERP system (NetSuite) and collaborate with supply chain and finance on any discrepancies for timely resolution
- Perform cycle counting maintaining accurate inventory and transactions with critical thinking capability to problem solve and perform Root Cause Analysis on inventory accuracy discrepancies
- Demonstrate a high proficiency with company's ERP system (NetSuite) for kitting, receiving, and work order transactions and identify systematic efficiency opportunities
- Work with external and internal vendors to resolve paperwork discrepancies to support work order transactions and receiving process with an advanced understanding of ERP with an emphasis on material movement and consumption.
- Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) and dispositioning of material and partner with Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers.
- Participate in NPI and Engineering Changes to ensure material flow readiness for systematic and physical aspects required
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment
- Material flow experience evaluating efficiency, layouts, and material storage with familiarity on receiving, kitting, work orders, and inventory movement
- Direct experience in a high-volume environment
- Experience scaling production while balancing material flow requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of lean principles and methodologies such as 5S, line balancing, problem solving, spaghetti diagrams, bottleneck resolution, performance metric management, Kanban, waste reduction, etc.
- Conscientious, responsible, with interpersonal skills to work with technical and non-technical team members
- Familiarity with inventory auditing and corrections along with Inventory Adjustments
- Experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment highly preferred
