Position: Asset Management Specialist (Junior) Location: Elizabeth City, NC (Onsite Work) Duration: Fulltime with CompQsoft Our client: United States Coast Guard (USCG) Functional Responsibility:
- Oversee the software and hardware waiver process. Ensure all requested software and hardware is submitted for waiver and approved prior to its installation. Initiate requests for installation and assist technicians with software licensing.
- Assist with maintaining current records for accountable property within the assigned custodial area and retaining documentation to support the audit trail for all acquisitions, transfers, and disposition activity.
- Assist with performing and providing IT asset inventory information of all servers, computers, laptops, and all other reportable property.
- Receive all IT equipment, add to property and inventory, affix tracking information, and distribute to appropriate personnel.
- Process for Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) all old, defective, or excess IT equipment.
- Maintain local operational tracking software for tracking IT equipment.
- Report all additions, deletions, edits, and transfer of assets.
- Maintain and oversee Platform Encryption Device (PED) issuance and tracking and ensures personnel do not depart with government owned equipment.
- Maintain and update High Level Architecture (HLA) Financial reporting of the data center.
- Maintain physical and electronic copies of software licenses and keep them up to date with latest versions.
- Verify usage, compliance, maintenance, and waivers of all applicable software.
- Complete periodic inventories of high traffic areas and the warehouse and ensure an adequate supply of back stock equipment is readily available.
- Review software maintenance renewals and maintain a software license management process to accurately keep up with the maintenance renewals date and number of licenses.
- Ensure authorized use and proper care and protection of government property.
- Report lost, stolen, or damaged property. Prepare Reports of Survey to document incidents regarding loss, theft, or damage of personal property.
- Serve as a technical advisor to the Accountable Property Office (APO) and Board of Survey, providing assistance as required.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP, process guides, and other technical documents to streamline current process or improve efficiency with new procedures based on customer requirements for business processes.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- The Candidate must possess the minimum Education / Qualifications:
- Two (2) years' experience in asset/inventory management in the IT field Experience to include knowledge of IT assets to include but not limited to servers, laptops, workstations, peripherals (monitors, keyboard's etc), software licenses, etc..
- Experience in Remedy or similar ticketing system
- Customer Service Experience
- Must be able to walk/stand/kneel/squat/stoop and bend for extended periods of time and possess the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Candidate must possess strong oral communication and written comprehension capabilities.
