We are seeking a Medical Surgical CNA (PRN), also referred to Med Surg Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at St John Hospital a member of Prime Healthcare in Leavenworth, KS. A Med Surg CNA will assist with patient care by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. Additionally, the Med Surg CNA, will help nurses by maintaining supplies, assisting with wound care, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed type of position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

Patient Care Duties:
• assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
• Clinical Support:
  • take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient's condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN
• Unit Responsibilities:
  • stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe
  • assist in transporting patients within the hospital

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required
• current BLS upon hire and maintain current

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• possess knowledge of Medical Terminology

It will be great if you also happen to have these qualifications but not required:

• minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred
