Electrical and Electronics Technician(Lab Manager)

As Electrical/Electronics SME, you will support testing activities for a new ship construction program for our U.S. Navy customer. You will work alongside U.S. Navy government and civilian engineers at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for test, evaluation, and operator support activities as it pertains to land-based test site and shipboard medium and high-voltage electrical power systems.

Contract Specifications:

  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Understand current shipboard electrical equipment and plant operational requirements
  • Develop test plans and procedures that adhere to standards and build specifications
  • Participate in and support test evaluation efforts at test site
  • Provide documented status updates on a regular basis
  • Provide shipboard electrical systems support for new installations and sea trials
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or 4 years of directly related work experience in lieu of a degree
  • 10+ years of related experience preferred
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability, attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and understand new shipboard electrical equipment, machinery control system equipment, and plant operational requirements


Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • U.S. Navy technician skills and training
  • U.S. Navy DDG electrical shipboard experience


Physical Demands and Expectations:

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, standing and prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
