SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, serving the Middle Market Bankers throughout the origination process and managing / training the Corporate Finance Analysts / Associates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This position is expected to perform the specific duties, tasks, and responsibilities as outlined below:

  • Manages, trains and develops the Corporate Finance Analysts & Associates to include workflow prioritization, consistent review / feedback and ongoing progress towards high standards.
  • Assists Director of Sponsor Finance in client / prospect pitching and direct new business origination as appropriate.
  • Helps source new opportunities through direct coverage of select Financial Sponsor relationships directly driving new business revenue and fee income.
  • Aids Director of Sponsor Finance in deal screening presentations to Sr. Risk Officers as appropriate.
  • Supports senior teammates and deal teams in developing complex financial models and providing analytical support including analyzing financial statements and projections, and developing and participating in credit screening, loan structuring and pitching efforts primarily in a supervisory capacity.
  • Creates and utilizes analytical financial models, including financial projections, discounted cash flow analysis, leveraged buyout analysis, valuation analysis, and financial analysis of historical and projected cash flows primarily in a supervisory capacity unless specific circumstances warrant otherwise (vacations, etc.)
  • Reviews and critiques junior staff's research and analysis on companies, industries and transactions in support of both client activities and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Reviews and critiques junior staff's research on current and prospective clients utilizing comparable companies and transactional information.
  • Works to create a constructive workplace environment that expands positive culture and enhances the Bank's core values.
  • Manages team's special projects related to job function as determined by the Middle Market Bankers.
  • Participates in community related activities.
  • Ensures that the Bank's policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with.
  • Provides aid to other employees by liaising with them through healthy and positive interactions.
  • Continuously updates skills by participating in professional training and development.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve skills through cross-training offered by the Bank.
  • Position may require regular before/after normal business hours, or regular out-of-town travel
  • All other tasks, responsibilities, or duties, as directed by the Middle Market Team.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting is recommended to have a good understanding of financial statements and to make industry evaluations. Finance/accounting related work experience of at least five years in lieu of a college degree in business, finance, and accounting.
  • At least 8 years of Middle Market Corporate Finance experience desired
  • Completion of formal regional bank credit training program
  • Knowledge of personal computer, Windows and Microsoft software applications is necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to remain seated or work standing in a confined area on a computer for a minimum of four (4) hours each workday
  • Must be able to constantly use hands and fingers to enter data through or on a computer or answer a phone throughout most of an eight (8) hour shift
  • Must be able to hear and communicate with coworkers and customers throughout the day
  • May need to lift to 25 pounds one to two times a day to perform job
  • Position may require regular before/after normal business hours, or regular out-of-town travel.

  • Must be able to function in a professional, business office environment and act and dress appropriately for same, consistent with the Bank's grooming and dress codes
