The Antitrust Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) will monitor developments in the legal and business environment to keep both the Antitrust Practice and its clients up to date and identify areas to develop the Firm's reputation and practice. Responsibilities include providing legal and practical expertise to support the practice through responding to lawyer queries and mentoring junior lawyers; helping to create, develop, and manage the Group's collection of precedents and research materials; organizing and delivering Group training; working with Antitrust Practice lawyers and the Business Development team to identify opportunities to develop business from new and existing clients; and providing other support as needed. This also involves leading initiatives related to merger control and developments under the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Act. The individual will ideally have experience in the practice of antitrust law, including exposure to both litigation and transactional support, to have a working knowledge of these disciplines and be familiar with the relevant documentation and issues. Specific responsibilities described below may vary depending on the Group's needs.
Duties and Accountabilities1
Current Awareness and Thought Leadership
- Monitor and inform the group about significant legal developments, identifying trends in the law or business environment and help the Group to develop new legal products, identify possible new services, and suggest innovative ways to deliver the Firm's services more efficiently to its clients
- Support the Group in the delivery of timely thought leadership (client alerts, articles, podcasts, webinars etc.) relating to Antitrust
- Lead certain profile-raising projects, such as the White & Case Antitrust Merger StatPak and other innovative practice initiatives
- Use own knowledge and expertise to identify trends
External Know-How and Trainings
- Support the Group - internally in training and externally in thought leadership in antitrust, specifically in the preparation of client presentations relating to recent antitrust developments, and compliance training
- Participate in industry events to promote the Firm's thought leadership and create and disseminate internally Know-How on Antitrust topics

Internal Lawyer Training and Technical Expertise
- Be a source of legal, market and practical expertise for all members of the Group and more widely around the Firm
- Develop and update practice notes and guidance to reflect changes in law, regulation, and market standards, especially as related to the HSR Act
- Create and maintain standard form documents and collections of precedent documents from closed transactions
- Identify practice-related training needs of the Group; organize, design and deliver Group training, including seminars, workshops and offsite training, independently or in collaboration with the wider Practice Solutions group
- Assist lawyers with day-to-day legal queries
- Provide onboarding for all new joiners, secondees and newly qualified lawyers to the Group
- Be involved in firmwide training programs, as required, including core training programs and induction courses
- Mentor associates
Collaboration with Marketing & Business Development Team
- Work with the Group and Marketing Team to establish processes to capture matter descriptions and categorizations in the Matter Profiling System; assist with capturing matter descriptions once process is in place
- Produce substantive content for pitches
Central Knowledge Projects and Miscellaneous
- Champion the implementation of new knowledge systems and technology
- Contribute to global knowledge programs and projects to enhance Firm collaboration and Antitrust expertise
- Provide professional support updates in meetings, and attend Professional Support meetings, global PSL conference calls, and external training to stay updated with legal developments

- This is a hybrid role based in our Washington D.C. office.
- This role reports to the Chief Innovation Officer.
