TMZ Live is seeking a Supervising Producer to oversee news & content for our daily television show. The ideal candidate will be a vocal, opinionated, and plugged-in news junky who is able to look outside the box in terms of traditional headlines and stories... and can effectively lead a team of producers within a busy, newsroom environment. The Supervising Producer will be responsible for deep research for daily stories/guests, identifying fresh angles to topics people care about, formulating daily show rundown, working directly with executive producers & hosts to workshop unique & newsworthy angles, advancing current news stories, managing TMZ Live staff, and overseeing the live production.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the charge enterprising newsworthy, topical, and interesting daily show topics and guests that will make headlines.
  • Research, pitch, and book newsworthy celebrity guests
  • Deliver innovative daily segment ideas that will stand out from the pack of traditional news shows
  • Oversee the production team in preparation and execution of the show for broadcast
  • Manage daily show rundown
  • Uphold standards of journalistic integrity and quality
  • Other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate should have experience reporting or producing topical, timely news content.
  • Daily content production experience & previous work under tight deadlines is strongly preferred
  • Ability to leverage strong industry relationships to secure high-profile talent and guests
  • Must have strong phone and interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent news judgment with solid knowledge of celebrity pop culture, politics, social media, and current entertainment industry trends
  • Requires the ability to identify problems and develop solutions
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience, with the ability to effectively train and coach team members
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in news production tools and an understanding of news production techniques
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $110,000.00-140,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
