Molecular Imagining and Theranostics Center (MITC)

The Molecular Imaging and Theranostics Center (MITC) is a university-wide resource for developing radiopharmaceutical-based diagnostic imaging and therapeutic agents. MITC is a hub of shared resources for in vivo imaging in small animal models. MITC supports the needs of investigators at MU, the UM System, and beyond who wish to incorporate state-of-the-art in vivo imaging to advance their research.

Job Description

The Molecular Imaging and Theranostics Center (MITC) is seeking a Research Specialist I. This position will support center operations helping to maintain the labs and assisting in research. This position will report to the MITC Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing small animal imaging
  • Performing image analysis
  • Small animal handling procedures, such as anesthesia, injection of agents, etc.
  • Assisting investigators in writing animal protocols to perform imaging and therapy experiments
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation and publication in scientific journals and for grant applications
  • Performs imaging facility managerial work, such as scheduling, billing, and assisting researchers in performing experiments

Must be available for reliable and consistent onsite work.

Shift

Monday-Friday, 8AM to 5PM with some planned adjustments to schedule as needed

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in a scientific or medical professions discipline. Degree in nuclear medicine technology with experience in radiochemistry, in vivo studies working with image analysis software preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $16.72 - $29.10 hourly

Grade: GGS-007
