A Strategic Account Executive job in CA or AZ is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). This Position will contribute to the development of Category Management infrastructure for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates with the objective of becoming the industry leader in providing category management driven solutions to meet the needs of our retail partners. With a strong foundation in analytics and insights, this individual will translate data into meaningful and actionable insights that drive brand and category growth for SMWE and our partners.

Strategic Account Executive job responsibilities include:



  • Effectively represent Ste. Michelle Wine Estates to assigned chain accounts. Territory volume of up to 150,000 cases.
  • Execute/drive company plans to achieve desired results for depletion and PODS.
  • Communicate and sell company brand plans/objectives, sales and marketing programs.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create/implement programs in order to drive in-store programing.
  • Ensure proper tracking for programing, planning and distribution.
  • Develop strong business relationships to become a preferred supplier and the 'go-to' partner for category information & opportunities for all major customers.
  • Knowledge of specific brands, types, sizes and estimated sales trends for all wine and spirit categories for SMWE brands and primary competitors.
  • Prepare forecasts for budgets and depletions for all brands on an as needed basis.
  • Communicate/update SMWE executive management team results of presentations, planning calendars and program calendars.
  • Report call results as requested.
  • Communicate to VP, Sr. Director, State Manager and RVP to ensure initiatives are aligned and executed at the local level.
  • Fiscal responsibility for assigned budgets including departmental and direct spending.
  • Oversee National retail pricing to ensure brand standards are within guidelines. Complete understanding of how to create, maintain and negotiate suggested pricing.
  • Become the point person with distributor account executives to align goals and expectations for sales numbers and distribution in assigned accounts.
  • Attend applicable trade events and customer events. Involvement with industry trade organizations to develop relationships with key decision makers at major customers.
  • Identify account price change requirements by state and take the following steps:

    • Discuss account requirements with Senior State Managers and State Managers and develop the suggested pricing plan.
    • Communicate suggested pricing plan to manager for submission.
    • Assist manager while pricing plan is in cadence process and negotiate until completion.
    • Ensure all stakeholders are informed of cadence outcome.




Position Requirements:



  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • 4+ years of Alcohol Beverage Experience, preferably with chain retail experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Proficiency with IRI, Nielson and other category management tools
  • Home based with heavy/moderate travel calling on account and spending time in trade with distributor partners.
  • Position will require nights and weekends for special events and customer outings.
  • In depth knowledge of the retail, grocery, warehouse club, and drugstore industries in areas such as operations, merchandising, category management, and finance measures..
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.


Your Compensation: $106,887-$138,963/yr. based upon relevant experience.
