JOB TITLE: Supv Distribution System Operations REQUISITION ID: DIS00TP DEPARTMENT: Dispatching - 801 Charlotte LOCATION: Kansas City, MO PAY RANGE: $102,700 - $136,900 (Min-Mid) Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. After-hours availability required to support storm events, On-Call/Duty responsibilities and as needed to meet customer reliability needs. In office attendance, there is no hybrid schedule. Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: To support and manage the daily operations of the distribution system. To ensure customer satisfaction through the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the distribution system which includes substation distribution power transformers (below 69kV on the low side) and associated isolating device(s) energized up to 230kV or less that are not part of the transmission bus and/or path all the way down to the customers meter. Coordinating storm response and restoration, supporting Distribution Operators by aiding in the development and execution of switching orders, and monitoring the status of the distribution system and equipment. The supervisor will be expected to support, communicate, and lead all interactions with the Distribution Operators to identify inefficiencies, collaborate, and continue to improve Evergy's reliability. The applicant should have basic computer skills, and an understanding of Microsoft Office products. Multitasking and adaptability are a must. An understanding of the electrical distribution system is recommended. Duties and Responsibilities: *
Supervise those who serve as the System Operating Authority (SOA) or the distribution system. *
Follows weekly guidelines and roles assigned to supervisor team *
Promote and maintain good customer relations through proper and timely responses to internal and external customer needs and concerns. *
Coordinating, staffing, training, and leading the Distribution System Operators *
Ensuring that effective communication and coordination is maintained between Operations and other departments. *
Ensures safe, reliable and rapid restoration of electric service to Evergy customers by effectively managing resources supporting the operations of the distribution system. *
Provides leadership and solutions to support Distribution Operators in performing all job-related functions. *
Monitors and evaluates communications, switching and outage reporting entered by Operators in ADMS *
Supports and implements the use of new technology to improve customer service, increase operating efficiency and control costs. *
Trains Operators to develop and enhance skills necessary to efficiently operate the distribution system in ADMS and OSI *
Makes initial evaluation of system-wide damage due to weather or other conditions to recommend resources necessary for timely service restoration. *
Improving\updating Distribution Operator tools and processes as required. *
Reviews and corrects outage data to ensure accuracy for reliability reporting. *
Possess a knowledge of system limitations and expectations of load and weather conditions of the distribution system to ensure reliability and. *
Provide training and administration of the proper use of the clearance procedure. *
Ensure effective administration of the collective bargaining agreements and company safety rules. *
Support and administer the implementation of strategic business initiatives through active participation of committees and teams responsible for development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of strategic business plan initiatives.
