The Senior Accountant - SEC Reporting is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, both internal and external. This position will prepare quarterly and annual SEC filings using Workiva, and maintain appropriate supporting documentation for audit purposes and in accordance with SOX. This role will also be responsible for preparing the monthly internal management financial reporting packages. This role will provide subject-matter expertise and support technical accounting matters.

Responsibilities/Duties



  • Prepare and maintain financial statement supporting workpapers
  • Interact and communicate with stakeholders to obtain support for required disclosures
  • Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements related to financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review all quarterly, annual, and periodic SEC filings in Workiva, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and other forms, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and GAAP standards
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and complete financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures in accordance with SEC requirements
  • Maintain proper documentation of all SEC filings and related communications to ensure a complete audit trail
  • Research and maintain schedule of all new accounting pronouncements and impact to the Company
  • Stay updated on evolving accounting standards and provide guidance on their potential impact on financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly internal management reports using financial reporting software
  • Prepare quarterly fluctuation analysis
  • Enhance processes and ensure internal controls are performed
  • Engage in face-to-face and remote communication with functional business leaders
  • Collaborate on any analyses and investigations as needed in preparation for meetings with Senior Management (i.e., Operational Reviews, Annual Budget, Strategic Plan, etc.)
  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors during the annual audit and quarterly reviews, providing requested documentation and addressing inquiries.
  • Implement process improvements to streamline financial statement preparation by leveraging automated tools
  • Assist others in the group as needed
  • Other duties as assigned and that bring value to the Company


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance required. Master's Degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years' progressive responsibility in accounting and financial reporting
  • 3+ years' experience working for a Big 4 company preferred
  • Experience auditing and/or working for publicly traded entities
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Strong GL accounting skills
  • Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, US GAAP, SOX compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting
  • Ability to develop, improve, document, and follow processes
  • Ability to provide high quality deliverables while meeting deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be proactive and able to take on projects from idea through completion
  • Excellent project management, organizing and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Understands the team concept and has a strong desire to be a contributing teammate
  • Expert/Advanced MS Excel knowledge
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite and Workiva is desirable
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Visual acuity for reading and using the computer
  • Ability to hear
  • Ability to freely move about the office
  • Ability to use the phone/computer/keyboard/mouse/general office equipment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate with others in order to exchange information
  • Fluency in the English language
  • Excellent proofreading, spelling and writing skills, as applicable for financial statements and SEC filings



The Salary for this position generally ranges between $90,000 - $110,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
