Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is$145,700to$245,800.

Position Summary:

The Director of Learning Experience is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive learning and development programs that leverage modern technology and innovative learning practices to enhance the skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities of our employees. This role will drive a culture of continuous learning, fostering employee engagement and supporting the organization's strategic goals. The Director will partner with senior leadership, HR, and other stakeholders to identify learning needs, develop cutting-edge solutions, and measure the impact of development initiatives, with a strong emphasis on digital learning and data-driven insights.

You Will:

Strategic Leadership & Digital Transformation:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and leadership development strategy aligned with organizational goals, with a focus on integrating digital learning tools and platforms.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on learning and development best practices, emerging technologies, and digital learning trends.
  • Anticipate future learning needs and proactively develop programs that leverage technology, such as AI-powered learning and microlearning.

Modern Program Design and Development:

  • Design and deliver engaging and effective learning programs, including blended learning solutions, personalized learning paths, and social learning platforms.
  • Develop leadership development programs for all levels of management, focusing on key competencies and leadership behaviors, delivered through a mix of digital and in-person experiences.
  • Utilize instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and modern learning methodologies (e.g., agile learning, design thinking) to create impactful and engaging digital learning experiences.
  • Select and manage external vendors and consultants, particularly those specializing in learning technology and digital content creation.

Implementation and Facilitation (Tech-Enabled):

  • Oversee the implementation of learning and development programs, ensuring seamless integration with existing technology infrastructure and smooth delivery across digital platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a robust digital learning resource library and knowledge management system.

Data-Driven Evaluation and Measurement:

  • Establish metrics and evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of learning and development programs, with a focus on analyzing data from learning management systems (LMS), learning analytics platforms, and other digital tools.
  • Utilize data analytics to provide insights into learner engagement, program effectiveness, and ROI.
  • Continuously improve programs based on data-driven feedback, user analytics, and evaluation results.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and develop a team of learning and development professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in the use of learning technology.
  • Manage the learning and development budget, prioritizing investments in digital learning tools and platforms.

Grainger Leadership:

  • Engages the larger network of Grainger business "leaders as teachers" and other internal and external resources to deploy large-scale, global solutions to the enterprise
  • Partners with business and HR stakeholders to deploy global initiatives across the enterprise, optimize internal and external resources and assess enterprise program effectiveness
  • Guides "federated" learning model stakeholders and Learning Partner Community of Practice (e.g., function and country-specific learning and delivery resources), through adoption of global learning standards and coaches on deployment strategies to achieve specific business outcomes.

You Have:

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

* Minimum of 10 years of experience in learning and development, with a strong focus on digital learning and technology integration.

* Proven track record of designing and implementing successful blended learning programs and digital learning initiatives.

* Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, evaluation methodologies, and emerging learning technologies.

* Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, with proficiency in virtual communication and collaboration tools.

* Extensive experience with learning management systems (LMS), learning analytics platforms, e-learning authoring tools, and other digital learning technologies.

* Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience managing technology-driven projects.

* Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating a strong understanding of digital transformation.
