Fire Sprinkler Project Manager - Mid-Level to Experienced
Tri-Cities Area

Job Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for managing fire sprinkler installation projects in an industrial facility, positively representing the company in all client and engineer interactions. The PM oversees and communicates project progression from inception to completion including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation. Develops a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets. Conducts weekly Work in Progress (Minutes) meetings. Understands and follows all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications. Ensures AHJ requirements and office procedures are followed. Convey a sense of professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor and management. Coordinates change orders and drives toward overall margin improvement on every job.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Oversee the full project life cycle, from initial planning and design through to the final installation and testing of fire sprinkler systems.
    • Develop project schedules, work breakdown structures, and budgets.
    • Coordinate with clients to define project scope, requirements, and objectives.
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.


  • Team Management and Supervision:

    • Coordinate with the project team, including technicians, subcontractors, and suppliers.
    • Assign tasks and ensure team members have the resources and support needed to complete their work.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring high levels of performance and safety.


  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that all fire sprinkler systems meet industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes. Must be familiar with the local jurisdictions in the Tri-Cities area.
    • Verify that installations comply with customer requirements and national fire safety regulations. Must have historical experience in installation requirements with the local jurisdictions.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
    • Help create and review start-up and safety documents for work areas, site logistics, and commissioning.


  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Act as the main point of contact between clients and the project team.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction through clear communication, progress updates, and timely resolution of issues.
    • Address any project-related concerns or changes requested by the client.


  • Budget and Financial Management:

    • Monitor project expenses, ensuring that costs stay within budget.
    • Approve invoices and manage procurement of materials and equipment.
    • Provide regular cost reports for management and clients.


  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, drawings, permits, and change orders.
    • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management and sales team members.
    • Ensure all project documentation is complete and archived for future reference.




Qualifications:


  • Education:

    • Construction Management, Project Management Certificates, and/or equivalent in field experience specifically to fire sprinkler systems a plus.
    • Relevant certifications (NICET) are a plus.


  • Experience:

    • Experience in project management, specifically within the fire sprinkler installation industry, is a plus.
    • Proven track record of managing installation projects, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.
    • Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems, regulations, and industry standards (NFPA 13, 14, 24, UL, and FM) a plus.


  • Skills:

    • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle tight deadlines.
    • Proficiency with project management software and MS Office Suite.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.





Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 40 lbs.).
  • Ability to visit project sites and supervise on-site installations.


Work Environment:


  • Mobile Office-based within a project site. This is not a remote position.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.



Compensation:


  • Competitive salary, based on experience. Salary Range 75K to 95K annually.
  • Benefit packages include health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, paid Holidays, and sick pay.
