Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is$93,000.00 to$154,900.00.

Position Details:

The payroll tax manager is responsible for Payroll tax compliance for approximately 20,000 employees by ensuring compliance, and controls for North America. The payroll tax manager is responsible for the payroll team located in the US and the outsourced payroll partner who is responsible to ensure that the North American payroll process meets defined service level agreements and quality targets, and that continuous improvement opportunities are identified and executed as necessary to ensure those targets are achieved and sustained. This position focuses on compliance to internal policies, key controls and government regulations, and creates an environment in which our employees' expectations are anticipated and consistently met. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge and experience in the area of payroll operations and systems including SAP and ADP Payroll, expatriate payroll, payroll controls, vendor management, SOX requirements, SOC1 controls, labor law and tax compliance.

This person will also act as an advisor and partner to both employees and managers ensuring we have a seamless and accurate quarter, and year end, including ensuring proper audits, and controls.

This is a hybrid position and is onsite 2-3 days a week in Lake Forest.

You Will:

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of payroll compliance, inclusive of Payroll tax, garnishments, and keeping up to date with updated and new payroll tax laws
  • Manage the timeliness of team member experience for all ServiceNow cases relating to Payroll tax & compliance
  • Develops key performance indicators to monitor and evaluate effectiveness of payroll tax processes
  • Identifies and implements process improvements
  • Responsible for ensuring standard operating procedures are up to date and accurate for Payroll tax team
  • Responsible to bring all Payroll tax and compliance issues to Payroll Director to ensure alignment and proactive resolution to remediate any future issues
  • Serves as subject matter expert for payroll tax
  • Ensure payroll tax setups are accurate (state, local, and provincial)
  • Responsible to balance the quarter on a quarterly basis and to provide backup to the Payroll Director to ensure a successful year end process
  • Train, coach and support payroll tax team
  • Identify opportunities for processandcontinuousimprovements

You Have:

  • Minimum of 8 years of payroll tax experience with multiple tax jurisdictions.
  • Canadian payroll experience required
  • SAP and ADP work experience
  • Ability to effectively supervise team members and work as a member of that team and organize work activities for other members of that team
  • Demonstrated coaching/mentoring skills and issue management problem solving skills
