Business Operations Specialist

Overview:

Employee Benefits Solutions (EBS) is a customer-centric organization delivering solutions that meet the needs of the largest and most dynamic corporations in the market today.The STRATA Operations Team, within EBS Business Operations, supports this mission by consulting, interpreting, creating, and maintaining employer data within a system called STRATA. STRATA serves as the Single Trusted Source of DATA driving critical external and internal facing experiences and processes for all of EBS' clients and customers. This position is responsible for completing the STRATA configuration for new client implementations and STRATA configuration maintenance for in-force client changes.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Research and document information, trouble-shoot and configure the STRATA system based on policy rules for new and existing client initiatives while effectively considering the needs of all impacted systems such as administration and technology.
  • Actively participate in external client meetings and internal team meetings to ensure the integrity of the client's needs in conjunction with STRATA system setup and other impacted internal systems.
  • Communicate and partner with internal business and technology teams while monitoring and resolving critical client production, testing and internal system issues.
  • Create complex spreadsheets utilized by internal business users to model the client setup for the administration of premium and claims and to build reports sent to clients.
  • Work on team projects such as process improvements, conducting STRATA systems training, creating/maintaining procedures, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze documentation, research, and ask relevant questions as they pertain to configuration, problem-solving and assessing the impacts of multiple systems.
  • Strong aptitude for understanding system functionalities and the ability to interpret system language to effectively serve as liaison between business users and the technical system developers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail to effectively interact with a variety of positions and thoroughly document information.
  • Strong time management skills with ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and prioritize urgency while ensuring stringent deadlines and client commitments are met.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with experience working in a team-oriented environment as well as individually.
  • Commitment to privacy of customer information.

Complexity of clients and topics vary and influence work assignments.

  • Specialist position typically focuses on Ochs clients, less complex Life clients, running CMS reports and adding CMS assignments to JIRA board, also posting policy/certificate documents, and Online EOI setup.
  • Senior Specialist position typically focuses on:
    • More complex Life clients, VB clients.
    • Quality review of all STRATA configurations completed by entry level position.
    • System testing: CARE, smoke test Benefit Scout, Online EOI and LBE.
    • Forms posting.
    • Monitor and resolve critical changes, problems, or issues as it relates to STRATA (e.g., CARE tickets, Service Now tickets, etc.).

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$20.91 - $36.54

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
